What Does Full Coverage Auto Insurance Cover?
December 15th, 2009 - ByPosted in Auto Insurance
I have full coverage auto insurance on my vehicle and it was broken into last night, someone jimmied the door open and stole my gps, my watch that was in the glove box and my money order for $675 that was in the overhead console that I was going to pay the rent with this week. Are any of these items typically covered by insurance or am I just out of luck on all 3?

You’re probably out of luck as far as the GPS and watch. Car insurance ordinarily doesn’t cover the contents of the car unless you have a rider for valuable equipment. While it might be covered under your homeowners/renters insurance I suspect their value would is less than your deductible. As far as the money order depending on who it was made out to and if you have a receipt you may be able to stop payment.

Auto insurance will not pay for contents in a car but if you have renters or homeowners insurance, they may. Can you stop payment on the money order?
