If the cost of insurance on the dividend option term rider is higher then the monthly premium being paid. What happens to the term insurance portion of the whole life policy at that time? I have this rider now on my whole life policy to maximize my death benefit at the lowest cost but I’m thinking that either I will have to pay more premium if the cost goes up or I have to drop the rider.

Looking to get life insurance on myself. Need to replace 70K per year income in the event of my death. Need to support my wife and 4 year old son. What type of insurance would be best, and what type of investment advice could be given for my family to invest the money and live off the interest, leaving the principal untouched?

My husband doesn’t want to get life insurance, he thinks it is a waste and a scam. But if something should happen to him, me and the kids would be SOL. How do I get insurance for us? How do I know the insurance co. will actually pay if something does happen? Are there ways to write the policy so to protect us better?
