Can anyone recommend a good home insurer (good rates and reliable)??? I know those two usually don’t go hand and hand…
And how would I go about switching from my current insurer to a new one? Right now, I pay the insurance to an escrow account with the mortgage payment.
Thanks

The only certainty that life brings is death and taxes. So when it comes to the home the last thing you expect to happen is for something to go wrong for absolutely no reason at all but of course it happens which is when home emergency insurance comes into the equation.
The worst thing that could possibly happen is that on a bank holiday a pipe bursts or even worse something seriously wrong goes wrong with the gas which is always fun to deal with. How difficult and expensive would getting a plumber to come in actually be? Not only this with the way the world is at the moment how on earth could anyone be able to afford to pay for a huge call out charge let alone for the actual damage!

I know that expensive houses will cost more on home insurance, but what about your age, sex? Does it matter? I know that for auto insurance, 18-25 male, the premiums will be high, what about home insurance?

I know 0 about this: are home insurance rates annual or monthly? Could someone give me just a very rough idea about how much a cheap studio’s home insurance & tax would cost? (in upstate ny)

Of course when the amount of insurance in increased, the insurance premium also increases. I have only $125,000 left on the mortgage and insurance company has increased the insurance to cover a value of $305,000. Real estate value of the home is $450,000. My credit rating is excellent and I have not had any insurance claims
