Well if something does happen to your camera when you are away there isn’t too much you can do about it unless you have camera insurance and even so there proposes a problem, you are not likely to be able to actually get a replacement whilst you are on holiday.

The best thing to do is buy a very cheap camera and use the SD card from the current one to take the photos and then when you get back get in contact with the insurance company to get the broken camera replaces immediatly. This will not actually allow you to get the money back from the camera you purchased out there but it will allow you to get back that expensive camera of yours totally free of charge.

It is also worth looking into your insurance policy to see if you are even covered worldwide as there are many out there that will sneakily hide the fact that you are not covered in certain places.

Now is really the time to take out some insurance on the camera as it has recently been announced that 41% of people carry on with them wherever they go.

If you a fan of using the Sat Nav when you are away then you actually get world wide cover sat-nav insurance that will cover you if the device breaks when you are driving down the unknown streets of a foreign country.

Although once again this will not help you if you are in the middle of nowhere on holiday, it will help as when you get home you do not have to buy a new one.

Gadget insurance is a general term for both of these and others and can actually be purchased to cover up to five different items. If something bad does happen to the product and you have insurance then you would have saved money in the long run.
